You sound like a communist advocating for distribution being mandatory. Tell me, why shouldn't the business decide if they need or want to hire a distributor?

You’ve dumbed this thread down from alcohol to local craft breweries being their own distributors.

Do you have any idea the overhead it takes to be a distributor? Even if you’re your own distributor

You are clueless

That’s not what my point is.

Again, this is all going over your head.

I’m trying to explain to you why distributors are necessary.

Hence

Doesn’t Abita and Parish sell direct to stores and bars?

I don't see how that would be possible.

Those guys couldn’t afford the overhead to distribute their own product.

But why should using a middle man distributor be a requirement by law?

Why can’t a fully registered, liscensed, and inspected brewery be able to bring their own van load of beers to stores or bars in a region where maybe they yet don’t have a distributor?

No one’s arguing that distributors are no longer needed. The argument is that they should not be mandated by government law.

Sure, for the most part. But plenty have advocated they're obsolete in general.

Tell me about it. Trying to order a small batch distiller's Single Malt, and I find out that the online liquor allowed to be sold online is wine and sparkling wine. FML

It's not a tax thing imo. It's a mafia thing, at least that's the origins of it. Ditto for may other things.
