I’m just curious to know if there is any correlation to the rise in school shootings with the zero tolerance policies schools adopted against fighting and self defense.

Mental health is almost taboo here. Or you have the parents that pump their kids with ADD/ADHD meds.

I have multiple friends that lived in Britain and I can at at least tell you in their experiences that was not the case. They met tons of people their age and didn’t meet a single one who’s parents whooped them. I’ve talked to British people online and stuff and they swear to me people in Britain don’t do it and that they don’t understand why Americans do it either. Also British people also have problems with fatherless homes, but that’s just one of many countries.

How the frick would the electric chair be a deterrent when the vast majority of these psychos expect to die within minutes of firing the first round?

I would like to see the statistics on shootings on school grounds during school hours where at least 3 people are hit or killed.

The stats OP linked are ridiculous and include things like suicides after hours, someone driving by at night and shooting a few holes in windows, etc. One of the incidents even included a police officer whose gun went off accidentally. It's such obvious stat fudging by MSM.

Your list isn't complete. Virginia Tech isn't on it and it is still the worst school shooting in history.

Also the one at UAH was an argument between professors. One brought a gun and killed her colleagues. It was completely targeted and not an active shooter situation. (Although I think it's fair to count it). She also used a handgun.

Why do we only care about people shooting other people with guns in a school setting if it’s at least 3 people. That should t ever happen at a school. I don’t believe OP stats either but there is no reason to say 3 or more. If someone pulls out a gun and fires a shot and hits someone on a school campus it’s a school shooting IMO.

Ok fine, Id be cool with counting any incident where a person was shot on school grounds during school hours. During school hours is important because any two baws can meet in the school parking lot after hours to take care of business. I wouldn't consider that a "school shooting."

I think what we're all interested in are random shootings where the killer hits anyone in sight. But I'm still OK with counting targeted shootings too (like the UAH lady who killed her colleagues).

Why have I not heard of these 288 school shootings? The way the media jumps all over every one these days you'd think there would have been coverage of all the 288 school shootings. I'm not sure I remember more that ten or so.

Not that teen is a good number.

Kids are huge assholes to each other in every single country. We aren't any worse than anywhere else when it comes to that kind of thing.

London banned guns and the murder rate increased.
The "increase" you are referring to is from a very low rate to a still very low rate. It is statistically insignificant. It also depends on which years you pick to compare to determine whether it increased or decreased.

Guess why?
Because of randomness.

Because people will use weapons of any and every variety to kill.
This is mostly true, but take a knife to your next gun fight and let us know how it turns out.

You know what stops and prevents most school shooters? A good person with a gun.
shite, we have a couple hundred million good people with guns already, how many more do we need?

Look, you can't tell from this post, but I am absolutely pro 2nd amendment. My wife and I own several guns, and I'll be damned if anyone is going to take them from us. But these arguments you are trying to make are ridiculous.

You seem convinced that banning guns in London has caused an increase in the murder rate. First, it is questionable whether the murder rate has even increased at all. Second, what kind of idiot does it take to believe that removing any weapons from the equation, whether 1 or a hundred million, could in any possible way cause an increase in murders? That's just stupid.

Similarly stupid is implying that adding more guns to the equation can actually cause a decrease in murders. You said it yourself, people kill people. How could adding more killing tools result in fewer killings? If your reasoning is that people are less likely to murder if there is a good chance the target is armed, I would think the statistics on gang violence should throw that argument out the window.
