I owned this exact same car back in the day so I’m not a minivan virgin, just a virgin

I have a mid-sized SUV and an Excursion, wife has a minivan. If I could have the minivan in an 4x4 with a little more clearance and towing capability, it would be my hunting/fishing vehicle.

Rented a minivan in Colorado a few weeks back for the family. Rocked that bitch hard.

It was awesome.

I thought you were talking about shoes at first.

Because it's all in how things are branded. Vans are seen as a family vehicle and although it might be the best option for people, they are insecure.

It’s all perception. Buick’s are badass cars and might have the smoothest ride out there, but no guy under 40 wants to be seen in one.

2003 civic si, rally shifter, 160 hp, racing seats, red stitching.

That was my first car when I was a junior in high school. Mind you this was not long after the first fast and furious came out. I had to replace the clutch in less than a year.

Insecure people worry to0 much about what others think and so they go with whatever is in vogue for the "cool" folks. Vans are way more practical for babies, toddlers and small children. Seems like they are typically more affordable than SUVs as well. As kids get older, I think SUVs may be a little more durable and suitable, though only markedly so. my recollection is that SUVs usually have more towing power.

WIfe has had both, she always says the van was the best for how much she could put in it and how easy it was for the kids getting in and out.

I'm a truck guy but had no issues driving either, SUV have been more fun to drive though.

They aren't the same thing. SUVs were designed to be all-terrain vehicles (sport utility vehicles).

Maybe if the definition of all-terrain is dry and wet asphalt.

I am really wanting a Sprinter Van RV, there is so much DIY information and parts available on the Web I am thinking of getting a stripped Sprinter cargo van and doing my own conversion.

Not a single crossover that America, Japan, and Korea make right now appeals to me even a little.

I like some American and Japanese SUVs (Suburban, Land Cruiser, Tahoe), but all domestic and Asian crossovers look too much like minivans to me.

The only crossovers I like are from Germany or Sweeden. They mostly look sporty and have a short front overhang and a longer distance between dash and front axle. That goes a long way into making them look less like a minivan.

I kind of want a Regal GS.

However that Buick Envision crossover looks like a minivan next to the Q5 or XC60. I hate that thing.
