The qualifications for college professors had very little to do with actually teaching. Researching and writing academic papers is where it's at.

had a finance at LSU class years ago, the guy could barely speak a lick of english. The whole class would just sit there with a what the frick look on their faces the entire time...I bombed pretty much every test but got a B in the class because of the massive curve. I learned nothing

Who gives a shite about teaching? Junior colleges? It's all about that grant money.

False. Foreign professors just come at a fraction of the price. Plus, if they complain, the University can have their work VISA revoked and they're on the next flight back to wherever they are from. It's the same reason why so many foreigners work in IT in the U.S. VISA abuse by corporations on a massive scale.

When I was contemplating going that route LSU required you to get your PhD at a different school.

So I got an undergrad at LSU, a Masters at LSU, meanwhile worked at LSU for 6 years (Grad asst, TA, farm manager), but I couldnt become a professor unless I went to an out of state school (like Florida) to get my PhD.

Thats bullshite and a big reason I didnt do it

Because a universities main goal is to make money, not teach someone something.

I was lucky enough to get the only english-looking name for Calc 1 in college. Get to class the first day, and he stuttered like the other lawyer in My Cousin Vinny.

There was a professor at LSU who had a Chinese last name and no online reviews, but was the only section available. I cursed at LSU as I had to schedule that, then walked in the first day and it was a badass white woman who married an Asian

Research grants is the short answer.

Universities spend as much on students as they take in. Their surplus comes from research grants and donations. They don't care if they put a non-native speaker in front of the students so long as that professor brings in the money.

This is the reason why I dropped out of engineering. I have a hard time with accents. I just can't understand people sometimes.

I had a Chinese lady for one of my maths, and I couldn't understand a things she said, "So you put vayiabu in parnsesis and murtpry vayiabu equa numba"

I tried talking to her about it, didn't understand her reply. I spoke with one of the Deans, and his only answer was "Well, she's a brilliant woman. LSU is lucky to have her on our staff."

Well, that's great that she's brilliant. But between her and the Indian professors, there was no way I was going to pass.

I did have one teacher at LSU who was Indian (dot not feather), but he spoke perfect English. His only speech quirk was that he liberally peppered his sentences with God Damn, and Piss and Sonofabitch.

"First you take the God Damn transitive muscle and follow that piss sonofabitch to the vocal mechanism."

I read most of the responses in a Chinese accent.

That is all I have to add.

I took a photoshop class under a Japanese professor who had difficulty speaking English.

"My hardness is too hard," made me giggle.

Foreign students are the only ones willing to put up with the pompous shite from the academic elite. The grad students do all the dirty work for little pay, while administrators and tenured faculty might show up on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays and draw fatter and fatter paychecks.

While that is true... that is a secondary issue.

The primary issue is that there are very few American PhDs especially in areas of math, science, etc. Those that are American, tend to work for major corps making a ton more money. All that's left is the foreigners.

My geometry teacher was Chinese...which was fine because geometry is as good as Chinese to me anyway...no chance of me understanding either one.
