Get the Double Decker kit. That way when your hard shell breaks, it stays put because it is glued together with yellow cheese on the inside of a soft shell.

Not in Trump's America, hombre.
I think you meant .0787 inches.

People still use crunchy taco shells?
The best.
I realize hipsters only want "authentic". I'm not one of them. TexMex is superior to authentic Mexican. It took Americans to make it great.

Can you still get fresh taco shells? Every single one I've bought in the last 3 years has been stale. I've tried Ortega. I've tried store brands. I've emptied whole shelves looking at expiration dates. We still eat them, but they are, as the youngsters say, "stale af."
I blame all the chatter about "white people tacos." People think they should eat aUtHEntIc mExICaN fOOd. We've been taco-shamed.
Now that you mention it, 99% of the time the Ortego shells we get taste stale even after toasting them.
This time though they were divine. Fresh tasting and break apart in small pieces upon biting (instead of a whole side splitting off).
I never thought to check the expiration dates on the box. It's a shame because a good hard taco is so much more satisfying than a soft shell.

Why do toaster settings go up to number 10 when bread burns on number 4?

Bake them for a few minutes in the oven, but place them so they are open-faced pointing downwards. Keeps them from shrinking.

Damn Mexicans or Texicans whichever one it is.

Im more concerned with why you can get 10 shells for a dollar but a bag or tortilla chips that weighs less is 5

That's why I always went with Tostados

If I want crunchy I just make a taco salad with tortilla chips

Strange to equate soft tacos with hipsters.
They’ve always sucked. Hard to stuff, fall apart when you bite them. Usually stale.
I mean if you want a good hard taco shell just buy soft corn tortillas and bake them.

Would you just sit at a table eating whole tortillas?

Most people don’t even realize you’re supposed to arrange them with the last one holding the paper that keeps the shell from folding down while in the oven.

Salty ur a damn genius I’ve been separating all the shells separately for years and learning Mexican just to curse about it breaking before my cheese goes on the meat.
Thank you sir for all that u do

The bigger issue is the shrinkflation. I bought some for the first time in a while and was shocked at how small they were. I checked the box because I thought I bought a snack size. Unreal.
