Thanks dude: I knew there had to be more to it in airports. Stadiums are all centerplate basically so they can name their price

i'm curious to see how MB Stadium in atlanta is doing with sales. I remember they were supposed to make concession prices extremely reasonable

They did very well. Cut prices on non alcoholic beverages and food by 50% from the Georgia Dome prices, but revenues per fan increased 16%.

50% drop in prices, ~20% more revenue per game. From an article I read last week (but cannot currently locate)

Is this inflation or are these places just trying to capitalize on supply in demand?

Wonder how the profit compared though? That’s what most owners will be concerned about.

m probably in the minority, but i usually refuse to pay for beer at sporting events, concerts, and airports i may sound cheap, but having a beer isn't worth 10 bucks even though i could afford it if beers were 4 bucks, i'd probably have 3 or 4 though

Those are probably the top 5 best places to drink. If I have money invested in a concert, a game or a flight for vacation I'm going to enjoy it as much as possible and drinking adds to that enjoyment.

Higher prices = more profit.

I know that's a complicated concept for some people.

At the Masters In Augusta, beers and food items are all about 2 to 4 dollars each. Eat and drink like a king all day for 30 bucks

Masters Menu

They have no interest in making money off patrons. Only enough to cover item costs and paying the staff. It’s all about the experience. I wish more venues and events would take that approach. But with these greedy comapanies like Centerplate and Aramark at a most large venues, it’s just not gonna happen.

I still but I’ll still buy the 13 dollar Strawgator or CC IPA at the dome because I’m forced to or not have beer.

It's a piece of the puzzle. Fan experience went way up. Merchandise sales were up 88%. Etc. Blank thinks it will lead to higher season ticket sales and whatnot.

Found on the Masters site, pretty standard department stores prices not outrageous unless you’re OT poor.

Baseball Caps - $20 and up
Bag towels - $14 and up
T-shirts - $29.50 and up
Polo shirts - $69 and up (Bobby Jones brand most expensive)
Balls - $44 for dozen, $11 for sleeve of 3
Umbrella - $45

The what now? I’m talking about the actual Masters merchandise you buy at the pro shop. What website are you buying second hand stuff off of?

While everyone has echoed that this is basically the only reason keep in mind both venues have an interest in their customers not getting sloppy drunk. Airports and stadiums would rather sell you three beers for $10 profit than six beers for the same $10 profit.
