Why do sports venues and airports jack up the prices of alcohol?

Damn son. Beers are like 9 dollars in the dome and the arena, airports jack up the price too like 7 dollars for a draft bud light. Is this inflation or are these places just trying to capitalize on supply in demand?

Captive audience/Monopoly pricing

One of the greatest thing about the master's is the concession and beer prices

Isn't it obvious? If you were the only guy in the desert with ice water wouldn't you charge $12.50 for a glass? And wouldn't everybody pay?

Blame the third party food vendors like Centerplate. If you cut the middle man out food and beverages would be a lot cheaper. The falcons new stadium does their own food and beverage and concessions are a whole lot cheaper.

Tulane concessions are legit. Superior Grill and Moe’s BBQ, they also sell Nola brewery beers for like $4 a pour.

i'm probably in the minority, but i usually refuse to pay for beer at sporting events, concerts, and airports

i may sound cheap, but having a beer isn't worth 10 bucks even though i could afford it

if beers were 4 bucks, i'd probably have 3 or 4 though

i'm curious to see how MB Stadium in atlanta is doing with sales. I remember they were supposed to make concession prices extremely reasonable.

They jack up the food as well. It's because you have little choice except to go hungry/be thirsty.

Especially airports because you don't have time between flights to do anything else but sitting there doing nothing for an hour or two sucks. So you go eat/drink

In airports there’s more to the story. The airport owner jacks up the rent on the bar and restaurant spaces so they have to charge that.

Otherwise supply and demand would bring the prices back down. If bar A is charging $8, bar b would charge 7 and so forth.
