Even if we assume the OP’s figure in regards to white victims of murder is true at 25-30, that would mean that white homicide victim rate in NOLA is 6.6-7.9 per 100,000 (all population) Compare that to national white victim rate of 1 per 100,000 (all population).

It’s even worse when you segregate out white only populations. There roughly 117,000 white citizens of New Orleans which means the homicide victim rate of a white person in New Orleans when isolated for race is 21.3-25.6 per 100,000. The national white homicide victim rate when isolated for white population is around 2.2 per 100,000.

But, yeah, totally safe.


EDIT TO ADD:

Let’s compare those numbers to Baton Rouge - a shithole in its own right.

BR’s white homicide victim rate is 4.8 per 100,000 - so roughly around 2/3rds of NOLA

And like NOLA, the white population is the minority but not to the same extent. BR’s white victim homicide race when segregated for white population is about 13 per 100,000 - making it statistically half as dangerous as New Orleans in terms of statistically likelihood of being murdered if you are white.

And Baton Rouge is a third world shithole.
