Yep, the same idiots who drive on the highway with their hazzard lights on when it's raining. Too stupid to know that's not how it's done.
OH LOOK, a downvoter. Must be one of those idiots who do drive in the rain with their hazzard light flashing..Dumb bastards...........

Well, DemonKA3268 from Parts Unknown, perhaps you're not acquainted with driving on Louisiana highways. People tend to drive like they're in some kind of video game where everyone in front is a winner, and anyone behind is a loser. Down here people seem to be courteous to people in front of them, but couldn't give a shite for the losers behind them. Letting someone merge into your lane in front of you is seen as some kind of weakness. It's not laziness that makes people speed up in the right lane so you can't merge in front of them - or speed up any time they see someone indicate that they want to pull in front.
Perhaps I'm overstating it a bit to make a point, but there are enough out there that it becomes problematic and contributes to Louisiana being ranked third in the country in automotive deaths per mile. People simply drive way too aggressively down here.

I realize I'm showing my age but my first car had the highbeam "foot switch" on the floor.
Hell, my first car had the starter button on the floor. You turned on the key on the dash board but had to press the switch, very much like a dimmer switch, on the floorboard to start the car.
The engine was a flathead 6 with a positive ground 6 volt charging system. It was a 1954 Plymouth Plaza that was built like a damn tank. You could walk across the hood and not dent it like the crap they make todays cars out of.

I am constantly meeting drivers on highbeam, and they seldom use the dimmer switch.
This happens when they get the vaccine booster.

Not sure the last time I manually messed with the high beam/low beam switch. All 3 of our vehicles auto detect and switch accordingly

Okay, been driving in Louisiana my whole life since I was old enough to drive, I know how it is. People are lazy and they are also distracted, especially these days. Not going to disagree with the aggressive part especially in the bigger shitty cities, especially New Orleans. Whole bunch of dumbasses down there.

One way to know if someone is approaching you has their brights on before you flash your peasant lights at them is look for the fog lights. If they are on, the high beams aren't.
Idk about other brands but basically every f150 driver has fixed that with forscan to have all of them on at once. Fogs, lows, and highs, and not to mention the DRL's still on (although those will dim when the headlights actually turn on).

Cars now come with the auto high beams that dont always work.
All this tech has created lazy drivers. Drivers expectations of said tech doesnt match the actually reality of how good the tech is.
At some point it will catch up, but until then we will see more wrecks due to trusting faulty tech.

Inconsiderate fricks I’d imagine.

It’s every baw for bawself out there.

Back in my day we didn't even use lights. We drove by feel.

Most times they aren't actually even using the high beams. These regular led headlights are just so fricking bright in some models that it just looks like high beams.
Agreed, and that shite needs to be banned. Should have a max lumens or whatever for low beams.
Or the throw just needs to be lowered...that illuminates the road more anyway.
I've noticed lifted vehicles, or vehicles with weight on their hitches, tend to be the biggest culprits -- and aftermarket LEDs that are just awful.

Not sure why. I don’t like shining high beams on peoples houses.
My beams automatically dim when cars are facing me.

Mine is a F-150 and it is programmed for Bambi mode. My lights are also auto and I live in an extremely rural area.
