I wouldn’t call myself an introvert. However, I hate dealing with stupid people/NPCs and I think most people are stupid. I prefer to spend my free time by myself, the women I’m screwing, or close friends.

Funny enough was just on a call with them. I actually really like the team but they are not as good having us based staff when you have a engagement that isn’t straightforward. The language barrier is too much to over come.

They could have a roll doing really simple task. Otherwise it’s pretty dumb. I have seen it at multiple firms and no one has liked working with India.

I love it. I get to talk to karen every day, but I also get to talk to people from all over the world. I like the people I work with.

We also have files that can't be taken home and require a physical presence due to regulation, and would have to be there several times a week regardless. Plus, the view is killer.

And you just said on the last page that jobs would be sent to India Nas the Phillipines.

You people who depend on your jobs for your social lives are the weirdest of them all.

Where did I claim that?

During the course of my normal workday (6 to 10 hours depending on what’s going on), I like being able to interact with coworkers. Then when I’m at home, I like to interact with family and friends, have beers with neighbors on the driveway, etc.

I just don’t like having the same setting all the dang time, which is what WFH is, or would be for me (I’m not going to head to random coffee houses to work and all that BS).

I also enjoy NOT working at the office and getting out into the various oilfields my position supports.

And again, if someone wants a job/career where WFH full time is an option, then great. Just don’t come into the office whining and bitching all the time about how you’re being “forced” to be in the office. Go find yourself the job that allows you the freedoms you desire. No need to whine to everyone else about it.

My work, prior to Covid, it was office every day for work. Then it was WFH when things shut down. Now…we do a hybrid. WFH some days and in the office others, yet some snowflakes still whine about being “forced” to come into the office those two or three days a week.

Doesn’t bother me but I did hear a tech billionaire make a good observation regarding working from home. Basically, once your company realizes you can do your job effectively, (for some), then the next step is to have that job done for a fraction of the price from India, the Philippines or some other 3rd world country
That was one guy who had zero idea of what's going on in the current state of tech. My company recently reshored its' last remaing IT and customer service operation we had in India. I know of 4 or 5 other companies who have done the same. The whole offshoring experiment has largely been a huge failure. There's a few areas where it works but everyone in the industry has pretty much acknowledged that it isn't the best.

I’ve been at home for 2 weeks now. Couldn’t imagine working from home. I’d be 300 pounds.

For me it was the opposite. Working from home for two years allowed me take the dog for a mile walk every day and then go to the gym nice and early since there was no office to report to.

On top of that, all my meals were super healthy and better because I cooked them myself. The amount of money I saved on food and gas was staggering.

Because we are the ones that had to be forced back in to the office. Not the other way around lol.

That’s really good for you, but my previous Commuter jobs had the office in Brentwood, Tn and The Woodlands Tx. Two really expensive areas that your starting analyst cannot afford to purchase a house in.

Most office centers are downtown or in business complexes in expensive suburban cities. Very few people at my job could afford to live in Brentwood so everyone was commuting from Columbia, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Alabama, and Dickson.

But not about others working in the office if they want to. Do you not see the distinction?

Every situation is different. I work hybrid (2 in office; 3 wfh). My whole team has same schedule. Personally, I am happier working hybrid then 100% wfh. That get tiring after a while without a human interaction.

I've been fully remote for a while now, but I wouldn't be 100% opposed to a hybrid schedule. The thing that would hold me back from accepting it completely would be the loss of flexibility. My wife is also a professional, and she can't work from home due to her field (she's a healthcare provider in a field that doesn't work very well with telehealth). So, if she gets an opportunity somewhere else and would want to move, we wouldn't have to worry about finding a job for me too, as I can work from anywhere. I took this job when she was finishing up school, specifically due to that flexibility.

Same. It doesn't save me that much time. But I work with people who live an hour away and love only going in once or twice per week.

She hated it. Went back to the office as soon as she could. Still doesn't like that other people work from home. It's surely not a jealousy thing as she was miserable working from home.

Maybe not jealousy exactly, but maybe she resents the fact that she hated it.
