Why do rednecks like fireworks so much?

I think fireworks are great. The loud bangs. The beautiful colors. The whole thing - it's great. Especially if you have kids. Kids love fireworks. That's also great.

That said, I've noticed that rednecks will come from far and wide to see fireworks' displays, kids or no kids. They'll bring lawn chairs and set them up on the side of the road. Or they'll stop on the highway and find a makeshift parking spot to watch the pyrotechnics. They just love watching them. They also love creating their own displays and putting on a show for the whole neighborhood. They'll spend hundreds (thousands?) of dollars on fireworks. All through the night, and into the morning they will go. I find it interesting.

Please understand that I'm not suggesting they are lesser people for liking fireworks. I'm simply seeking better understanding with regard to fireworks and why certain people have such an affinity for them.
