Why do Prius drivers have attitudes?

Had to do a roadtrip for business this past weekend. Had to drive to the west coast of Florida about an hour north of Tampa. It seemed every Prius I passed was riding in the left lane doing the speed limit. All the Prius drivers give you dirty looks when you pass them. I have heard that Prius drivers tend to "drive with attitudes." This driving trip really drove home this thought. Anyone else have this experience?

I have no idea why anyone would buy a prius. I'm not opposed to a hybrid car. Just no reason for it to look retarded just so that everyone knows I'm driving a hybrid. I've had one as a rental and hated driving it.

Maybe it's because they drive a POS car and they can't tell you what to drive. It frustrates the lttle control freaks.

For where I live, it's because they appear to be in their 70s or 80s and are driving while looking through the steering wheel.

I have a Prius in my household, my parents both drive them, and my FIL has one for his work commute. None of us think we are better than any other driver on the road. We just like 50 mpg in a decent sized, fairly low cost, and reliable vehicle.
We also don't do 55 on the interstate, so we may not be the usually Prius buyer

Cuz Im constantly on the horn or flipping their slow asses off as I guzzle on by them for driving 10 mph under the speed limit.

Yea, my wife's car definitely defines who I am.
Fun fact, I don't have a "dabigfella" mentality. The car I'm driving says nothing about me IMO.
