Well mister judge judgey mcjudge pants,…….you are the one going to a lot of time and trouble to think up a thread that smears any old person that says the slightest negative thing,…

Why can’t you take your high minded approach and be more tolerant of others? Realize they may have difficult things going on in their lives that you know nothing about. You could give them a bright spot in their day by being the object of their scorn for just a few minutes, but you have to act all superior pointing out their slightly negative tilt.

See, that was not so hard, you can take it.

People that complain a lot are weak and generally low IQ.

People that constantly complain are borderline retahded.

At 50, I think I’m going in the opposite direction. My complaining peaked during COVID, riots and treason season. I’m finally learning to temper (trample and crush) my expectations.

Rather than embracing all they've done/seen? Im only closing in on 40 but I feel like despite the negativity that social media tries to throw at you, life is beautiful if you just spend a moment with your kid or walk outside. What goes through the older folks minds on this site that not only embrace the negativity, but feel like they need to add to it? Is everyone just that fed up with life and they've given up on trying to spread positivity?

It’s the real-time processing of mortality. Getting older and your parents are one day gone, the only people who truly loved you unconditionally.

You start to feel more alone in the world and vulnerable. You become acutely aware that you are on the back end of your life and it’s scary. So you complain as a way of processing that fear and validating the daily struggles now that your body is weaker and your mind is less sharp.

More and more people who know you and your life as a young and vibrant person die yearly…then weekly…then seemingly daily. You complain to process that you are still here, still slowly fading. You complain, even though you know that there’s nobody on earth who cares.

When you get up four times a night to pee it can make you cranky.

I played golf for two days this weekend. My entire body aches just from THAT. I will have to go to the chiropractor and also get a massage this week just to get back to what I consider OK.

Im 41 in a few weeks. Eat good, exercise a fair amount. Cut way back on booze etc.

Wtf else am I gonna gripe about anyway?

Human nature. Friend of mine has a saying, if we were to throw all of our troubles in a hat, we'd always pull out our own.

My hip hurts, and the ways of doing everyday tasks like older understood are completely gone. Trying to navigate my parents and in-laws through online banking, streaming services, and cell phones is frustrating to them.
