Yeah, that’s why I say it “used to” piss me off. I am 100% credit card these days.

Still, I’ll occasionally be given a check and Campus Federal check deposit via app never works

Strange, it's never given me an issue.

There's a reason behind the term, "Banker's hours". Traditionally, banks were open for short hours during the day.

My bank has free coffee.

And I enjoy experiencing the greeters as they circle me, trying to convince me to use my app or the automatic teller as I sip my coffee and walk towards the teller window with my check and deposit slip.

That was always going to change, but 9/11 was the kickstart. The Federal Reserve maintained it's own fleet of jets to shuffle those checks and other financial instruments around. It all came to a screeching halt for several days, resulting in the impetus to move to an electronic system.

It absolutely was going to change. But, sometimes change is slow. I worked for Hancock and they were still having their deposits picked up by courier until 2010 or so.

There was a post office near by that was open from like 9-3:45.

Ok let me take the day off of work to mail this letter.

You can't step away for 5 minutes to mail something? Or mail it from work?

You're still even mailing letters?

I actually used my bank to testify at an out of state trial a few years ago, a notary swore me in and then let me have a conference room with a speaker phone, didn't have time to go and pre-arranged with the judge

I don't know of any that stay open late anymore.

Also some are open Saturdays, some are not.

Wish I worked at a bank. They open after Im already at work and close before I get off.

Which also comes to a screeching halt whenever some construction crew cuts the dedicated Fed Reserve Fiberoptic Cable.
Fed Reserve has it's own dedicated fiber line. It is kept isolated from the actual internet.

Happened a few years ago around Tyler, TX area where the Southern USA Main Fiber Trunklines run. Small town I live outside of at top of Toledo Bend Lake is where the line crosses into TX (rather than go under the lake keep it on dry land). Road construction crew chopped it with a backhoe. Took a week or so to splice it all back together. In the meantime Parish/County Sheriff or State Troopers were literally on site at every bank for 24/7 as the bank alarm systems also ran off that line. Banks had to fall back to pre internet comms with the Fed. It effected every bank between Atl and DFW to some extent. More redundancies have since been built.

DING DING DING ALING

Such a winner and SO superior.

On that note, the last time I went in was because the line was moving like a tortoise.

Infuriates me that they do this.
This infuriates you? It's not that big of a deal. Go during your lunch break, go to a different location, have you checked what time the drive thru closes? My bank lobby closes at 4, but the drive thru is open until 5:30.

The USPS also has a website that can do everything a post office can do as long as you've got a printer.

While I totally agree that closing at 3:45 is stupid...

Unless your job is one that hinges on your being there from X time to Y time (manning a desk/phones, medical professions, etc.), I don't see why an employer wouldn't let you step out to run an errand during the workday.
