re: Why do most bank lobbies close at 4?

All the "old reasons" aren't really valid anymore. Some branches don't even have the tellers really work with cash anymore... they use a machine to put the money in, and the machine also spits out cash, for them to hand to the customer.

Now it's more about managing employee hours.

But a lot of this is regional/local. In NOLA it's hard to find a lobby open past 5 and a drive thru past 6. In Katy, most branches were open until at least 7 and drive thru sometimes until 8 or 9.
