Probably because unlike a bunch of lazy entitled American youth of today, they need to eat something for breakfast before they hit the job site.

When I used to work in the field as a project manager, a lot of the laborers we had working would always get Hunts Brothers Pizza or Brothers Chicken for breakfast AND lunch. Every single day. Black, white, Hispanic, didn't matter. Every single day they would stack up large supply of that Hunt Brothers Pizza and Brothers Chicken.
I always wondered why they ate that every day, especially for breakfast, but I never asked.

I worked at a gas station when I was 18. This is definitely a thing.
The donuts, cookies, etc. we made were dog shite so I can see the logic in doing this.
TBH, mexicans would do this at all times of the day, not just in the mornings.
