Why do I have to wash my hands after drug screening?

Had to go take a drug test today, because I got into a fender bender with the company truck. I wasn't at fault but I still had to go. Anyway, I get my kit in the doctor's office, collect a sample for the nurse and then she tells me to wash my hands. I looked straight at her and said "my junk is clean" and she looked at me like I was crazy or something. Still had to wash my hands. She was in a rush because the doctor's office was packed, she never answered my question as to why I need to wash my hands.

I washed my hands after pissing in the cup for a drug test and I got bitched at by the woman doing the test. What a miserable person you have to be to administer drug tests.

You filthy animal. For a real chain of custody drug screen they should be able to cut off the water to the room. So you cant walk in with your own clean urine and dump the rest and flush or pour down the sink or some try to dilute a sample.

What if you inadvertently touched something before the test with drug residue? A door knob, a chair, a steering wheel on the company vehicle or whatever. She should of answered your question but I think washing your hands was just protecting you and helped validate their test.

She told you to wash your hands bc she cut off the water to the sink in the bathroom. Therefore she knew you were unable to wash your hands.
She was just saying that you are now allowed to wash your hands. i.e. the water is back on.
