What crazy liberal state requires this?

Louisiana. Have to take a class and pass a test to get a bar card. This even applies to cashiers at grocery stores. They can't ring up alcohol without it.

Don't know about other states.

I used to live two blocks away from the first Taco Bell Cantina when it opened.

That place was a total shite show from midnight-3:00a. 1 hour wait times for Taco Bell.

Louisiana bar card

This is required?
I last bartended in 2010. I had no "bar card".
These were 2 large establishments that did everything by the book.

Yes, since 1997.

Fast Food in other countries sell beer. I got a cold one at a Burger King in Germany, but you also have to specifically tell them you want ice in your Coke too, and they drown their fries in mayo, so things are definitely different there.

I'm not sure how things operate in Lafayette, but where I'm from, alcohol being served at Popeye's Chicken would make for an apocalyptic disaster. They'd likely have to build a sheriff's substation inside the restaurant.

McDonald's can't handle ice cream machines, Popeye's can't an abundance of food, and Burger King can't handle anything, but you think they can handle beer?

One should not ask Cancer why it doesn't spend it time more productively.

It's the Free Market's way of punishing people for supporting quantity over quality oriented fast food chains instead of local businesses.

Go to a locally run restaurant or a bar. You'll pay a little more, but you can beer, wine, mixed drinks, whatever the hell want! The entire experience will be better.

Here in Kansas we have a regional fast food franchise called Spangles that does not sell beer, but does sell margaritas and screwdrivers.
