Because Louisiana has some of the most friendly alligators in the country. Florida gators are generally naked, on meth and have a tendency to expose themselves to children outside a daycare.

i have no idea but i imagine a lot more people are getting in gator water in florida than Louisiana

Because their state is covered with these little sinkhole lakes where the people there like to live close by and gators like to reside in. Plus they have like 5 times as many people in roughly the same amount of space.

Well there’s more people in Florida. Also more ignorant tourists and urbanites.
Baws in Louisiana are probably smarter around animals than people from Florida to be honest. All those years on the bayou and what not.
Show us some per capita data.

It's the New Yorker's that try to pet them.

There are more people in Florida and there are more older, bigger alligators in Florida? Also, there are some really stupid ones. The people, not the gators.

Florida population: 21,400,000
Louisiana population: 4,600,000

Every neighborhood in Florida has a lake or canal. Gators rule

Hotter water temperatures

Florida people feed their gators.
We catch them, skin them, and eat them.
Those big lizards are not that scary in Louisiana. They are shy. I worked around those things daily years ago in marshes on foot, and not once feared for my life. I've swam within 10ft of 5 to 6 of them and not a worry in the world.
It's not a crocodile or man eaters. We hunt them here. They will shy away from humans if they can.

Because Florida folk don't respect the swamp dinosaur.
