Dallas and Atlanta are the two examples I’ve used recently of shitty cities I would never visit willingly. No way in hell I’m spending vacation time in any city unless it has a whole lot of uniqueness to make up for it. That list is probably 5-10 cities in the US. I used to think New Orleans was on that list but I’m not so sure anymore

How I know you didnt actually travel around DFW

The traffic is a nightmare

Better than anything in Louisiana on its best day.

the weather is brutal

Yeah but this summer its been pretty pleasant

it is flat and bare with hardly any trees, the food scene is mid at best

This is false which leads me to circle back to answer number one. You probably stopped at Bucces on your way through and made some thought up.

DFW has literally anything you want that doesn't involve a Mountain or a beach. There's always something going on. Has cost been driven up substantially? YES. However, most of DFW is seeing a small correction (not at the Austin level yet).

some of these takes are fricking comical.

Dallas is a great city to live if you are a family guy. Got plenty of great areas in the city and in the burbs. Especially if you are very successful.

the only thing shitty about dallas is the traffic and its hot

Houston is exactly the same as dallas as far as great place to be as a family guy. Traffic sucks and its hot

but frick its hot all over the south, especially LA. The weather in dallas is better than most of South LA and Houston is exactly the same weather.

Both have great places to live, great food, great schools, plenty of money and successful people...crime and homelessness is not bad at all in these two cities compared to others in the US and are practically non existent compared to the rest of the world.

if you are poor...then yea they suck. But we got mother frickers from Nola, BR, Gueydan, Eunice and Cutoff on here talking shite about houston and dallas.....really?

atlanta is fine too but crime is a little higher there but got some great parts in the city and great burbs.

the burbs in all three cities are better than anything in LA. but sure lets talk shite

got guys on here who have never even been to NYC steadily talking shite about it

But they get to see their cousins every weekend, and they see their State Farm agent when they're makin groceries! Surely that makes up for it!

i live in LC so im not gonna throw stones...just wish they had the same self awareness

like when people talk dallas and houston being souless....so...be more like nola and have culture?

people love to praise the northshore...the burbs in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta all shite on the northshore and I say that as someone who likes the north shore. I mean compare northshore to the woodlands, friendswood, southlake, flower mound, brookhaven, sandy springs etc

the best parts of nola are dogshit compared to Highland/university park, memorial, west university, memorial, buckhead, chastain park, ansley park etc.

just have some self awareness, frick

most of Fort Worth is pretty gross. It’s a lot like a dressed up Baton Rouge

If you ever get the chance to go to Dallas, take it from me, pass it by.

Cause you'll only sin the blues down in Dallas, take it from me, don't go and cry.

People do you wrong down in Dallas, I know well, they've done it to me

Stealing all your bread, they're so callous

My ancestor was the mayor of Dallas for a few terms in the early 20th century. My grandmother moved away but much of her family still lives there and they are all pretty successful. It is the “nicest” places in Texas. It has things to do. It has great private schools, and it is the center of Texas. It is basically the NYC of Texas.

What about Houston possibly makes it more desirable than Dallas?

I can see why Atlanta could be better for many people.

It is much better if you live within the actual city though, not one of the suburbs.
Park cities or north Dallas before you get to Richardson. Most of my family lives near Jesuit, nice neighborhoods around there.
