Youtube, it isn't that hard

Not being a dick, I'm saying if you spend a little time you should be able to do it yourself

Skip the Allen Edmonds and go straight to Alden. Much better.

Never said they weren't comfortable. I've got a pair from two years ago and comfortable as hell. Look nice.

What they're not - Highly quality shoes for the business professional

What they are - The best travel shoes for people who want to look like they're wearing half decent adult shoes but feel like they're wearing tennis shoes

Just shop their 50% off sales (or more) and pick up the zero grands. I'm not wearing them to a client meeting but they're perfect for walking 5-10 miles around some european city and then being able to walk into a reasonably nice restaurant for dinner.

Has the same issue, but was more like a month. Pieces of crap. Never again.

AE came out with the Road Warriors line. Also have removable insoles so you can use orthotics. I have flat feet so I have to use orthotics. Shoes are lighter than the regular AE shoes. The LGA (wingtip) is pretty comfortable as are the Derbies.

No question, Alden makes a better shoe but for those of us with orthotics, we are out of luck. Same thing with Magnanni.

There are different "levels" of Cole Haan shoes within the brand. Some are awful, some are better. None are what most would consider "high quality", but they serve a purpose and are pretty great if you have to walk a lot and are not needing to be business formal.

All of these old American shoe names were once handmade here in the US.

They were made well until the 1970's-1980's when machines were used in production.

Alden & AE are good choices.

Check out Barker,Loake & Trickers in the UK for some nice styles.

Carmina in Spain is worth a look too.

The reason why the customer wanted those shoes refracted and paid that price was they were his favorite shoes. He simply didn't want to let them go.

Like I wrote, they are better made than when he bought them now.

That guy was impressive. I love listening and watching people who are passionate about their work no matter what the work is.

I have some slip-ons that I wear every other day (that are probably a little out of style) that I like. Quality's been great for like 7-8 years now.

How often do you wear them per week? I always have a black and brown pair of shoes for work and the $125/pair shoes usually last me 1-2 years. I probably wear them about equally.
