The first three minutes of the youtube video show why Cole-Haan shoes are crap. This cobbler does some really good work by the way. Has a pair of my shoes right now.

It's no secret that they're not good quality shoes. A lot of people who don't know anything about shoes think they're top notch though

I've had a few pair and the soles split right across the middle in 6 months.

I have a few pair of the zero grands and they are extremely comfortable

Had mine for 2 years and working great. No complaints

I got about four minutes in. It’s impressive seeing what that guy is willing to do to repair (basically rebuild, it seems), those shoes. But, at the point I reached in the video, I started thinking - why the hell bother?
And I’m not saying that as someone enamored with our disposable society. I think, for all the work, I’d just want that guy to make me an actual new pair of shoes and not rebuild/re-structure that shite.

He pretty much made him a new pair of shoes. Much better than when they rolled out of the factory.

Was thinking the same thing

I'm dumbfounded that someone would spend $240 to refurbish Cole Haans, but that cobbler is legit.

I don’t think they are “high quality” at all, but I do know they are more comfortable than my Allen Edmonds.
You can also get them for much cheaper than their retail price.

Dunno, I've got the Belleveue boots and Badlands shoes by AE and they are pretty damn comfortable.

I’m not saying that my Allen Edmonds are uncomfortable, just that my Cole Haans feel like I’m wearing tennis shoes.

They’re way too narrow for my foot .

Maybe the owner likes them? Leather upper broken in? Maybe sentimental reasons? Promotions, personal milestones while wearing these?

I’m just wondering if the quality of that leather is even worth saving. Looked like shite to me.

Same problem here. Go w a 511 last.

Anything that isn't Goodyear or Blake welted isn't worth spending money on.

Maybe it’s a recent thing. 15 years ago I bought the black and brown Cole Hahn Nike Air loafers. The black ones bit the dust last year but my brown ones are still going strong.
Was just thinking about getting them re-soled.

I’ve been wearing the CH cordovan pinch buckle for over 15 years and have no complaints. I don’t walk very far in them, maybe that’s why? I replace about every 2 years.
