Could only access the truck tracking if you had a valid tracking number.

Probably because they don’t want you to go harass the driver on his route

Could you imagine the amount of idiots trying to track down the truck in the middle of its route?

I don't need to know where the truck is, but I wish it gave an ETA. Before 8pm isn't specific enough.

Because many people don't want to wait until their regular delivery time, and would "meet" the driver at a random stop to get the particular item from him, because "it will just take a second".

Amazon Prime gives you a map where you can track where the truck is carrying your package when it's out for delivery. If they can do it, so can FedEx and UPS.

It's be super sweet to grab some tracking numbers and find when these trucks are in areas with fewer eyes so I can rob them of everybody's shite.

You could see when it gate exits from a UPS/FexEx location. You can't see a live location of the truck as it moves down the road.

I had a UPS tracker this week that let me follow the truck with live updates. First time seeing that.
