What is LSUs endowment at now? I know it’s one of the lowest in the country Ming schools with more than 10k students.

LSU spent the endowment on the 500 million dollar lazy river

Not true. The master plan calls for its demolition, and for a new one to be constructed on the new "South Quad" (which will require relocation of the physical plant facilities between South Stadium Drive and the Nicholson extension.
It's in there, but we just have no way to pay for it.

Interesting. Isn't LSU beginning or just begun some massive fundraising campaign, like 500 million or something? And the library isn't part of it? that's pathetic.

I get all the hubbub about the locker rooms, and it's all mostly bullshite. But at least a light is now being shone on the pathetic situation involving our library
Do people still use libraries? If so, for what purpose?

Start up a fund to get this accomplished!
Some people still don't understand that the LSU athletic donations have nothing to do with the academic side of LSU.
All LSU academics has to do is raise the funds! GO DO IT...

With the way the state has cut funding for colleges, and all of the other pressing infrastructure needs facing this state, it seems to me that any money for future construction of anything on campus, academic or athletic or support, is going to have to come from donations.
If LSU wants a new library, then the LSU Foundation should be raising the money to build one.
If they aren't, how is that the fault of TAF?

When they finally demo Middleton, I really hope they find a new library location and leave the quad open.

No one uses the library anymore when I was in grad school I think I wen inside Middleton once just to check it out. No one needed it in '97 certainly no one needs it now with the internet.
A nice library is a luxury not a necessity so other buildings get constructed on campus but Middleton gets neglected and is dilapidated. The board doesn't care, the students don't care, so no one wants to pay millions for something no one is going to use anyway.
CEBA has transformed since I attended and that lazy river but people want that and that draws students. That ugly racist library can sick my duck.
Libraries suck, it's 2019.
wrt the players, they're idiots. 28 mill on sleep pods. They need to wake up, they need to be getting paid.

You don't go to LSU to play school

It's a $1.5B campaign... and I would assume the demolition of Middleton and construction of a new library (probably not in that order) would be included.
ETA: Nevermind, looks like that's not part of the campaign. Although it's possible that the campaign would free up other funds for the library relocation. Maybe.

LSU is broke, TAF is not.

Go digital and build it on a server! Lot less space involved and only need a closet. I’ll donate the cost of a closet.

Just tell F. King he can use the open space to rent to people for corporate tail gates. He will have that library gone before the first game. Then he can use the corporate tailgate funds to build something with his name on it. Easy Peasy.

The library has been a thorn in LSU's side since the previous master plan back in early 2000. They wanted to move it then and at one point Shaq was interested in helping pay for it but the administration cannot commit to solving the problem.

Because knowing the current administration they’d kowtow to the SJWs and have all books written by white men banned, the computers would autocorrect everything to “gender neutral pronouns”, and the cafe would be forcibly vegan.

JBE says pass another tax and he will build a new library.

Libraries are nothing but museums for books. Monuments to a different time as are professors.
