We can go to the moon/Mars yet we can't regulate the weather. Controlling then weather would get rid of world hunger, destructive hurricanes, etc. I think insurance companies are impeding this progress just like the big pharma is preventing the cure to cancer.

We can.

But your problem is you think the people that have that ability care about the common man and not their own wants.

It’s either control the weather or realistic sex dolls. The choice is simple.

Show me a device that will control the jet stream then you may be on to something. Could also research into the angle of the Earth in relation to the sun as well as the variation in elliptical orbit.

Yeah...simple stuff.

The amount of energy transfer involved is beyond our willingness to try. We technically could alter it, but it's too resource intensive.

Don’t you think insurance companies would rather control weather so as not to make huge payouts?

That requires lift and a vacuum seal. Do you know how much energy a hurricane has? Billions of times more than the Saturn V.

The cornerstone of being a Type I Civilization is being able to control the weather. We’re a Type 0 Civilization. We’re still a good hundred years off from being able to control the weather, especially since fossil fuels just isn’t going to get close to covering it.

I mean, we can try, but there’s not enough oil or coal in the ground to do it. We need either fusion (and lots of it) or perfect solar absorbtion to do so. The planet has so much energy that we haven’t even remotely tapped it. Fossil fuels are just easy, but the actual good shite requires extreme investment to get.

Google Operation Popeye. Weather can be modified through a process called cloud seeding.

Fusion power will do a lot. Should have that down in 100 years. It is really just in the testing phase now where more energy goes in to create fusion than what is produced by fusion.
