You have the right to remain silent
Anything you say can and will be held against you in a court of law
Soooooooooo, shhhhhhh

Nope. There are circumstances where your silence can be used as evidence of your guilt.
"I want a lawyer."
The end.

Because they're above the law. Kinda like most government employees.

You can be charged just for giving them a fake name when they ask who you are.
That's different because most if not all states have specific laws that require yourself to identify yourself (i.e. you can't plead the 5th if asked to ID yourself). You can always catch an obstruction of justice charge too for not IDing yourself.

If you find yourself in a position where the cops are having to lie to you about something then you’ve probably been up to something you shouldn’t have been.

But if you flee to a voting booth you are off the hook

when a cop is under oath and his/her lips are moving it’s a sure sign that they are lying

"Look. Your buddy already told us everything. He said you did it all . It was all your plan. You're the mastermind and he just helped"
Meanwhile the other guy hasn't said a word
Or.
"We have your prints at the scene and we can place you at the crime"
Meanwhile crime techs haven't even looked up prints yet.
Hell I was in a house that police. Entered with no warrant. I brought this up and quoted the bill of rights.
The officer said "we passed a law allowing home inspections" thankfully no one signed the papers legalizing the search.

Bc everyone lies
But it's illegal to lie to the police.
I believe that police should be held to the same standard as people outside of a formal police interrogation. At the start of the interrogation they should be required to inform people of their standard Miranda rights and the fact that police can lie during police interrogations. They should also be required to record those interactions with zero reactions.
Deceit is a useful tool for law enforcement. But in this day and age the vast majority of people are too ignorant of their rights and what the role of the police actually is. Also, the laws are so convoluted for the general public they have no idea that a police officer can say you broke the law and they have no idea whether it's the truth or a lie.

Am I being detained or am I free to go?
Then STFU.
Then STFU.

No context. I was just wondering why it is OK for cops to mislead us while we are charged with perjury if we lie, even if it's accidental, to the police
so there would need to be way more context. without context the answer is why do citizens lie also. Man I caught you speeding. Where no I wasnt. Idk how fast I was going.
