re: Why aren’t there signs on the interstate in BR telling slower traffic to keep right

Why aren’t there more lanes or routes? You BR people sure complain about traffic a lot. Seems you would at least have made a loop 15 years ago.

Everyone is already at a standstill

We can't get signs telling slower traffic to keep right but we've still got signs on I-12 advertising for Cortana Mall.

Those signs exist and don’t work. Waste of money.

Went to Houston and back this weekend and thought of the same thing. Also wonder why BR along I10 is the only stretch where you basically have to come to a complete stop to make a harsh curve left or right (depending on if you’re east or west bound). Which is part of what causes such a huge traffic jam at the bridge.
If you drove enough in Houston you’d realize i45 does that around downtown and causes the same problems.

There is plenty, open your eyes.

It would be a waste of money. I would ignore those signs and drive slow in the left lane anyway.
Posted on 3/24/19 at 12:26 am to Undertow
Because if everybody did exactly that, road raging idiots wouldn't be able to complain about it ad nauseam on internet forums.
Posted on 3/24/19 at 12:38 am to Undertow
Because the only people who need those signs are the drivers who are too stupid to decipher what that sign is actually saying.
Posted on 3/24/19 at 5:32 am to Undertow
since signs cure all, how about “Slow Traffic, Go Away”.
screw a new bridge, that should fix Baton Rouge’s traffic problems...

My driver complains about this all the time, poor people problems

Because the speed limit is 60?

Slow down speed racer. If I'm doing 75 in a 65, I couldn't care less about you doing 85. We're all breaking the law so just chill Dorothy.
You need a good smoothe punch in the face. If a car in front of you in the left lane was going 66 in a 65, would you feel the same way? Y’all are both breaking the law right?
Posted on 3/24/19 at 9:08 am to Undertow
Doesn't matter.
You're not going more than 10 mph through the city to the bridge anyway.

Because people should know this

Because there’s the need to merge/exit on the left
The only left exit in town is the Government St exit on 110.
Whats the excuse for the perpetual 18 wheeler traffic occupying the left lane on I-12/I-10?
IMHO, the biggest cause of traffic on 12 is that. 18 wheelers camp in the left lane doing below the speed limit from the 10/12 split to freaking Livingston going east bound. And invariably you'll get people trying to find a window like theyre at Daytona trying to squeeze around the jackass truck drivers. So people break, which ripples back through traffic. Or my personal favorite when a truck driving 68.5 MPH in the left hand lane is trying to pass a truck driving 67 MPH in the right hand lane.
I drove from Seigen to Hammond every day for 5 years. Its comical the number of trucks that camp in the left lane with dozens of car lengths of space in front of them, and its even worse with all the construction.
