Why are we not helping Jordan more

They have always been a good friend and ally to us. They are only stable Arab country in the area and have been ruled by good kings that have cared about and protected their people fur over 50 years. I get it is not a democracy but people their are happy with their situation. The are killed by Syrian refugeees and using military junk. Is Israel opposed to us giving them surplus military equipment and money? WTF?

While the king and the government are pro-west, the people, which includes a lot of Palestinian refugees, hate the west and Israel. They are unofficially the middle ground and mediator when it comes to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Has a lot to do with the 6 Days War in the late 60s and also their system of government. I know Jordan is content now with their current government but despotic rule is an unpredictable horse to back these days.

We don't understand the region and we don't appreciate how our policies are destabilizing Jordan.
