You’re watching youtube videos of people selling other people’s crap. Maybe don’t judge what they choose to buy.

Not judging, I’m learning, but I won’t buy VCR’s because there’s no excitement.

Knowing hipsters, there’s a market for watching “only released on tape” movies from the 80’s and 90’s.

Plus there’s probably a ton of homemade smut in the $1 bin somewhere.

Even I, the flipper, don’t get this.

Cassette tapes have made a come back too. The youngsters never saw this stuff so its fascinating to them.

I don’t think it’s as big of a come back as VCR’s

There was a thread on TD maybe 2-3 years ago about the only VCR manufacturer left had discontinued production.

They can watch grandpas vintage porn. Complete with 70s bush and cheesy back track music.

I've been hearing an ad on Sirius for a manufacturer claiming to be the only current manufacturer of VCR's. I don't recall the name.

I can see trying to collect vinyl records.

But I don't see any reason VCR's or cassette tapes need to make a comeback. It's completely inferior.

Was your dad Al Bundy?

The Harder They Fall was the 15th episode of Season 3 of Married... with Children

Bud and Kelly are depressed that they possibly the only family left with Betamax, instead of using VHS tapes like most families of the 1980s do, since they don't get many good movies on the Beta format anymore. While Al tries to convince them that having each other is good enough, they start to list off things they rather have like real food and heat.

No they don't. People say this all the time and the reality is they don't sell for much at all as everyone has them still thinking they will be worth something. Look on the sold section of eBay. Not the for-sale section.

If VHS ever comes back in big, I’ll retire a millionaire. Same for dvds.

Most millennials probably remember them, it’s the generation that came after (Z?) that won’t.

there's a betamax in my room right now lol. My old man taped every televised LSU game from like the 70s on. I got like 3 boxes of games on beta and a couple on VHS. Ive been putting them on dvds for him to watch.

FYI, I think VHS is high because a lot of people still have family films on VHS. I still have a VHS and bought an adapter a while back so I can finally digitize old personal films I have.

I’m probably going to kick myself one day all the old shite I’ve thrown away over the years

Who would have known my bedroom as a teenager was a treasure chest of stuff between Nintendo and Sega and VHS tapes and baseball cards and ballcaps
