Very true.
Obtuse, didn't want to bump your thread, but that link to SME/Devel 16 was pretty awesome. I had heard of Steve before, but not really familiar with all his work.

I would imagine if they ever actually build it the Devel Sixteen won't fair to well in this type of thread. But just the idea of putting a 5000hp engine in a streetable car is utterly nuts, in a good way IMO.

You know what they say, a little is good, more is better and too much means you just ran out of money for more. I was trying to figure out the firing order from the pics, but that might be a mystery too. :End of hijack:

Sort of related I guess, but I was talking to a guy the other day who just got a king ranch, and he was bragging about all the bells and whistles he had on the inside, the LEDs on the outside, and the drop down thing by the tailgate, but when I asked him what kind of motor he had in it, he had no fricking clue

That is an interesting question, just guessing I would think each 8 cylinder end would fire 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 like a normal LS but I wonder if they fire 1 and "9" at the same time or have the second "block" fire 22.5* off the first block. Not really understanding the impact of 3000-4000 lbft of torque they may have to significantly rearrange the power pulses to keep from tearing the crankshaft out of the mains, which would be no issue since it would be a fully custom cam.

Not really...there are more reliable car brands actually. I prefer Toyota products but have enjoyed Acura, Ford trucks & older Volvo’s.
One glaring exception.....ALL FCA products (Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep are notoriously UNreliable.

770,000 is impressive for that short of time. I have heard of several +500K but all were older models. Good for him!

To be expected with a new performance auto tranny..
It took BMW and Porsche over a decade to get get their "automatics" dialed in. The SMG and tiptronics were horrible.

High dollar low volume car (less than 100k cars in their HISTORY) built in England especially without the money of a major manufacturer behind them like BMW for RR and you can pretty much figure they are a nightmare waiting to happen. Their resale after warranty speaks volumes. They aren't a marque people will take it dry just to own once in their life like Ferrari. Gorgeous cars and almost worth the used price as lawn art for an OT baller.
