Even the best manufacturers have Duds every once in awhile and even the worst manufacturers have one or two models and or one or two model years that are worth having.

Yes, Cali's where it's at for optioned out cars. I spent a year looking for my MB w204 because I was looking for a fully optioned 2010 and they're extremely rare. Ended up finding one at a Los Angeles Mercedes Benz dealer that was a floor model so the dealer had it fully optioned so they could show the customers all the doo dads.

Had it shipped to south Louisiana for 600 bucks

F-150 for the muthafrickin' win.

Simple maintenance has a huge effect on reliability.

I was getting my oil changed recently on my F-150 Ecoboost at a Sterling dealership because I've got free lifetime oil changes. My truck uses synthetic oil and they put an oil change sticker with 5000 mile intervals. I had put off changing it and I had about 6500 miles on it when I brought it in.

I told the guy, "Yeah, I'm a little late on my oil change by about 1500 miles."

He says, "shite, that's nothing. I've got people come through here regularly with 15,000 miles or more betweenn oil changes, and it's free." Said he had one lady come in for her first oil change on a new Cadillac she had bought, with 23,000 miles on it!

People are stupid and don't take care of their cars. Especially women. Put gas in it and go.

That's fine if it's free.

If you were paying for it at that interval, they're ripping you off if they're using synthetic oil.

It took Audi a LONG time to battle back from the unintended acceleration claims in the US, but they have really made great strides in the last 7-8 years. I would buy an A4/A5 without hesitation while the rest are solid I would compare more carefully if reliability was my #1 buying metric. They still have some of the best interiors for cars in similar price ranges.

Seems to me that the worst are Chrysler and Kia.
Chrysler has some nice trucks and the Challenger.
Unless i was wealthy enough to constantly repair them constantly I'd certainly buy a hemi challenger.

1980’s those 4- speed Toyota single cab trucks rocked or Nissan hardbody z-24 4 banger 5-speed.
My wife made me get an Isuzu Diesel small truck. That truck had no real issues.
Mazda made a truck for just $5795 new.
The biggest thing on these trucks was the clutch master cylinder going out after you had 100,000 miles on them.
Mazda had a wankle rotary engine pickup those little trucks rocked.

All these trucks were simple, not a lot of technology unless you consider a cassette stero technology, and you could drive the wheels off these things.

Now everything on the car seems like it has a computer running it. The more stuff on a mechanical piece of equipment the more stuff that can break.
