Vets charge alot of money for meds and you can get them for much cheaper at Chewy and Petmeds.

How come local pharmacies don't provide pet prescriptions? YOu think one or two would jump in on that market.

Obamacare only covers cats. And cats prefer to use homeopathic treatments.

Dogs have nowhere to go.

I'm pretty sure I've seen signs at Sam's Club for that.

It’s almost like you answered your own question.

Doubt they want to carry the inventory. It’s not as
Lucrative as you think.

If they stock it then Walgreen's, CVS, Walmart, target will fill a pet prescription.

Many local pharmacies stock pet specific medications and also many meds are good in both human and animal medicine. The grocery stores around me like Giant Eagle, Kroger, Meijer all have pet meds as does the Wal Mart pharmacy. They aren't going to have everything but definitely the most common meds.

I use Essential Oils to heal any issue for my Nymeria.

It is a real panacea.

They invented the pet pharmacy and Craig was smart to reduce the overhead for items that tie up cash like that.

My Vet will call in scripts to Walgreen's if they have it, or modify the script if needed for what they stock (1/2 tablet), etc... it's even HSA approved that way!

I'd imagine the licensing and regulatory requirements would be a nightmare and the juice ain't worth the squeeze. Many of the medications can be used on animals as well as people. I'd imagine that you'd have to go through all the hoops a people pharmacy has to go through to stock anything that is approved for human use, but is prescription only.

There may just not be enough profit in it to dispense in an animal only pharmacy outside of an already licensed pet hospital and, as others have said, a lot of the stuff you're likely to be prescribed for your animal is available at your regular pharmacy.
