Why are the MTV VMAs on so many channels right now?

Viacom does is for all their awards shows. Kids Choice, BET, CMT, etc.

If memory serves me right, I remember these types of award shows to be very mature and sexually explicit. Why would a children’s channel like Nickelodeon show it? They also have it on 10 cable channels like it’s of the same importance as the presidential debates

I remember thinking it was weird AF when they started putting a show like friends on TeeNick I believe even when it was just a block on Nickelodeon. It’s crazy the content now considered appropriate for small kids. I’m only 26. I’m not Supposed to think that until I’m like 40.

I never understood why my parents were so against that shite growing up. Then I just saw the Miley Cyrus act and I get it. The first half is her teasing not wearing underwear and the camera zooming in super close. Yay female empowerment I guess
