I would think that they draw most of their students from the same populations

Why are you posting Arkansas student section pics in thread about Ole Miss/Miss State girls?

So I’ve grown up in proximity to a lot of people who went to both schools and have spent a lot of time in both towns and let me just say…..
This is literally true but not true as far as the types of people each school attracts. State attracts the more country or redneck type, applies to both men and women. Now that doesn’t mean they are all big time hunters and stuff like that but they aren’t as concerned about stuff like social status and stuff like that. It’s a more laid back type of person for the most part.
Ole miss on the other hand attracts your preppier or higher society type of person. Someone who is concerned with social functions people of status goes to and is always looking to make their mark to prove they can keep up with the Jones’s. The Ole Miss person GENERALLY is more caught up in fraternity/sorority type shite than the state person but of course that’s not a hard rule. Ole miss is a BIG TIME party town school and while state also parties and likes to have a good times it’s a little more toned down and laid back than the Oxford experience.
The girls that go to ole miss generally come from wealthier families than the ones that go to state and as a general rule the more money a woman has the better she will look or at least she can afford clothes and makeup that make her look better. Obviously this is not always true but generally it is the case.
Ultimately none of these things are hard rules and there are of course good people from and at both schools. There are of course ppl on the fringes at each school that contradict these general rules but these are just the overall cultural differences between the two schools that leads to the different situations and attracts different kinds of students (women).
Ole miss Has a reputation as a party school and incredibly low admission standards (so does state). This leads to a SHITLOAD of out of state students that come from places like Louisiana, Texas, and Georgia bc they don’t have the grades to get into their home state schools but want to go somewhere they can have a good time. This is simply put something that attracts more attractive women than the reputation that state has as a “cow town”. That’s not a fair assessment of state or Starkville but it’s the perception and that means a lot
It’s become somewhat of a self fulfilling prophecy at this point. Young pretty girl knows ole miss has a reputation of pretty girls going there. She wants to be one of them

Pretty sure this isn’t true bc I’m pretty sure the standards are set by the state and are equal for both schools

This is a false stereotype. Now I will say their are a lot of single older divorcees that are hot that frequent oxford due to the massive amount of attorneys. Oxford is full of settlement queens.

ESPN likes to play off the stereotype. They love finding certain types of girls to zoom in on during games.
Go back and watch the baseball cws and you will pick up on a different trend.
Both schools have fair share of thick, rich, and very nice
