How bout the friend who is getting married , sets the date for the Alabama game/Breeders cup. Plus asks you to be a groom. I never want to go through that pain again.
OK, maybe I'm dense but I'm reading "A friend getting married------asks you to be a groom???????"
Best man maybe, groomsman possibly, but groom just doesn't fit here.
Worst wedding I went to was a very good friends daughter got married on a Saturday night in the fall when LSU was playing Bama, and I was sitting in St. Louis Cathedral attending a wedding.
There were quite a few guys with their cellphones tuned into the game with the volume off.

My wife asked me once to go to one of these parties. It went something like this. I said you see these
Her response: See what?
My response: Deez nuts. Get off them
She went alone that day

1) Nobody is forced. If not going is a hill worth dying on, don't go.
2) These people are supposed to be your friends. It shouldn't be a burden to celebrate an important moment in their lives.

“No” is the most powerful word in the English language. And men don’t use it enough these days.

Why are men being forced to attend all these showers now ?
Short of gunfire, and I am being lenient there, men are not being forced to attend showers.

Why can’t women just have their own things and not feel the need to drag men around to their shite
Because the people you are calling men lack a set of nuts

My wife would laugh at the thought of asking me to attend any sort of bridal or baby shower. That’s the domain of the women of the family. The last thing they want is us men messing up their hen party.

Start hitting on your wife’s friends that’ll make them leave you alone

Invite the fiancée to the bachelor party. That’s how you handle these things. If she accepts, put her through initiation.

Sometime around 25 years ago, men were required to surrender their balls to a force of Amazon one boobed women and they're being stored in a government facility deep in the bowels of a small mountain in northwest Arkansas.
Not sure...it could have been 30 years ago.

When was the last time men were clamoring to bring women to poker night, deer camp, bowling league, fishing/golf trips, etc
These were created for the explicit purpose of getting away from the wife

Agreed. When I was a kid showers were strictly a women’s thing. No men went and mostly weren’t even allowed.
Then we had our first one. Thought I’d not be going. I was wrong.

It’s a sign of unhealthy co-dependency. It’s ok not to breathe the same air every once in a while.
