It's a beautiful state ruined by liberals

As I stated, I typically dont even bother engaging trump supporters anymore. They are either too ignorant, misinformed, or dishonest to warrant my time these days. Better to just ignore them or not engage them. He wont be around much longer and the trump supporters that aren't wackos will turn on him as soon as they feel they dont have to defend him anymore because he doesn't represent their team anymore.
Yeah, I should just ignore the pro-trump people, but sometimes I just don't get it. It is the "I support him because he is our president" people that I don't understand. I am usually in that category. Once someone is elected president, I support them because that is who the people voted for and I want the best for our country so I do not want to see a president fail, but the die-hard people who actually takes him serious and thinks he truly is best for this country. I just don't get what they see.

It sounds like you do understand:

I think a lot support him because he has an R by his name. There are the true believers of course, but I tend to be optimistic and think even a lot of those that voted for him, are able to recognize he is a completely incompetent bafoon that conned them. I could be wrong though.
Anyway, so far so good imo. He has no legislative achievements outside of some tax cuts that will be reversed in a few years when the Republicans decide the debt is a big deal again. He doesn't have any real convictions, has no policy knowledge, and is quite literally one of the worst leaders in memory. He wont pass a single significant piece of legislation while he is around, be it 7-8 months at the least or 2.5 years at the most.
I personally dont want to see him impeached, I think that would stir up the wackos who wouldn't do much, but it still just wouldn't be good. Better to just sit tight 2.5 more years, nothing much is going to change as he isnt going to accomplish anything except witch hunt this witch hunt that, and a lot of rounds of golf and tv watching. Pretty harmless, then we should be able to elect a competent adult in a few years, be it a dem or repub.

The home prices and the cost of living are the only things I hate. I had to pull out of a 2nd interview for a job that paid $75k/year in L.A. The taxes and rent prices made it impossible for me to even consider it with a family. $75k/year is higher than the average family household income across the country. My wife is a teacher and if she got a job immediately, we would have had a combined income of ~$125k/year. That would have been MAYBE lower middle class unless I wanted to commute over an hour each way every day.

Politics don’t bother me as much because if you’re truly a libertarian (as a lot of here claim to be) you can live and let live on that.
It's absolutely amazing how naive people keep saying this about California like it means anything about daily life.
You still have to live with being taxed out of the arse and living with crushing overregulation and an absurdly hight cost of living and god forbid you try to run a business there as the prog red tape will crush it before it can even take off.
Nope, I'm not going "live and let live" on that because they're not going to go like, "Oh you're a libertarian? Well that's cool then. Welcome to California! We'll drive your costs down for that!"
Amazing how people thinking being "libertarian" just means being pro weed, support gay marriage and being pro choice. No you damn simpletons, it's more than that.
California is a great place to visit, an absolute nightmare to live in.

I've worked out there before. The taxes and cost of living suck. But the cost of living (outside of taxes) isn't a function of politics. It's a function of the market.

I consider myself mostly a right leaning Libertarian and I agree with much of this. Hell the fiscal aspects of progressive ideology are much worse to me than the social aspects, which largely don't bother me besides abortion. Most Republicans aren't much better. They just tend to overspend on different things.

Uh uh.
And you're suggesting that politics doesn't influence the market?
You know why Texas is a great place to do business and get an affordable living? Because the politics there wants to make it a great place to do business and be able to afford to live there.
California politics doesn't. The middle class is being priced out of that state.

Simply put, because it is known as the most liberal state. And by and large, the OT hates liberals. It clouds clouds the judgment of most here.

The issue in this post is that the OP doesn't say, "Why doesn't everyone want to live in California?"
It says, "Why the hate for California?" and if I had to take a wild guess, OP is probably talking about the very large % of southerners who say "CALIFORNIA IS A SHITHOLE" every time the name comes up. There are over a dozen posts in this very thread doing exactly that.
