Pelayo

Pelayo, (died c. 737), founder of the Christian kingdom of Asturias in northern Spain, which survived through the period of Moorish hegemony to become the spearhead of the Christian Reconquista in the later Middle Ages

Pelagius, to you heathen.

Political talk will downvote but lol at that. Trump changed American politics by making them more hostile but hasn’t done jack shite otherwise.

I think you mean the moderate Democrats, but okay.

Gutenberg

wasn't the true inventor of typography. The Chinese invented it long before.

Does it matter who invented it if Gutenberg is the one who brought it to the western world?

If not for Genghis Khan we would all be worshiping Allah. He wrecked shite in the Islamic world just when they were poised to take over Europe.

The sack of Baghdad was in 1258. Genghis dies in 1227.

He certainly created the superpower that crushed the muslims, but it was not done under his command, nor do we know if he'd have chosen to do something similar.

Though the Crusades were in the midst of failing, there was no threat that muslims would take over all of Europe. The plagues had a lot to do with that, as did the climate and terrain of Europe, as well as certain feisty monarchs.

Over the one who brought it to the world? Yes.

His name was Bi Sheng. Looks like he could be from Pecan Island.

Yeah the real threat to Europe was the Ottomans. And I think it was fortunate for Europe that Tamerlane never really set his sights on Europe Europe.

I don't think Timur would have survived Eastern Europe for long, much less northern Europe. He died in the cold of China before he could fight them, so we'll never know.

I’m not sure who would have checked him. Maybe the topography would pose a challenge but he seemed able to adapt to different terrains.

I’ve always been a little surprised Tamerlane didn’t go ahead and take a crack at Constantinople. Would’ve been tough even for him so maybe that’s why he didn’t.

Eh, MLK wasn't known as that guy who is a religous leader, obviously. He was that guy fighting for civil rights.

This is what OP wrote.

Martin Luther. His efforts, along with those of others, triggered the schism in Christianity and brought about about Protestantism.

Do you see the difference?

You really think the United States military in 1945 could have invaded the entire Soviet Union, completely defeated the Red Army, taken over the Kremlin, ousted Stalin, forced a democratic government, all the while occupying them whilst all this happened?
