Didn't he get kicked out of HC before he actually graduated?
A good friend of mine in college had a much older brother who went to Holy Cross at the same time as John Larroquette. My friend was apparently a late "mistake" as he was about 20 years younger than his siblings. In any event, the story his brother told us back in the 80s is that Larroquette got kicked out as the result of something he did on some sort of Senior costume dress-up day. Apparently this was a thing at Holy Cross years ago where seniors would dress up in costumes on certain days. According to my friend's brother, Larroquette wore a pair of wading boots on senior dress up day. He didn’t have a T-shirt on underneath and one of the female teachers told him that this “costume" went too far and demanded that he take off the wading boots and put on his regular school cloths. Larroquette said "OK," took off the wading boots right in front of the teacher, and wasn’t wearing ANYTHING underneath. He was expelled that day although it was a long time in coming.
He also told us that on another occasion, the wrestling coach Brother got so angry with Larroquette that he picked him up IN HIS DESK and hung him out over the balcony of the main building and threatened to drop him if he didn't shape up. Larroquette immediately agreed but apparently didn't hold true on his promise.
I can't vouch for any of this as I was probably just a baby (or not even born) when all this happened in the late 60s or early 70s. But, back in the 80s my friend's older brother swore to it.
