Had the liberty bell or replica in it- right by the old Alec Box- all the hydrants were painted red white and blue and so were some culvert covers

I was 9 and my family camped at a lake for a few days with my aunts uncles and cousins. First time to camp out at a lake like that. It was a fun 4th of July.

I was a little kid. But I certainly remember.

I still have a set of mint bicentennial coins my grandfather gave me.

I was in the Navy and in NYC for the tall ships parade. It was a spectacular scene and experience.

Look around at all the mental stuff going on with men acting like women, and women acting like men. All the stupidity going on where we simply rubber stamp this stuff. Yes we had inflation and gas lines, but I still think we were better off bc this stuff is crazy today. We still have inflation and the things from the time we are talking about.

Yeah, that guy was really thinking he was a woman trapped in a man's body back then.

In Houston on I-10 someone rented the sign at Memorial City and posted their friend's name for his 50th birthday and proclaimed for a week

:Joe Name, one quarter the age of the USA!

My parents bought a set of bicentennial plates that hung on the wall for years.

That was one of my favorite machines.
I have looked for one over the years to buy, but never was successful.

The bicentennial pinball machine

I think the name of that machine was 1776 but I could be wrong. It was a great machine.

I remember CBS ran a series of short videos called The Bicentennial Minute. They’d run it during prime time and they were usually narrated by a CBS personality who would describe an event that happened on that date 200 years ago. Shell sponsored it when it started in 1974. It was supposed to end July 4, 1976 but was so popular it ran to December 31, 1976. Raid (the bug spray folks) sponsored the show after 7/4/76. The VP Rockefeller narrated the minute on 7/3 and Betty Ford narrated 7/4. President Ford narrated the final episode on 12/31/76.

I also recall 7Up made special cans with some random looking colors on the back. When you collected all of them and stacked them in a pyramid, it made a big picture of Uncle Sam.

I remember it.
I was probably wearing my "Archie Bunker for President" tee shirt.

Remember it well. We went to a plantation home near my house where they threw a big celebration. There was watermelon eating contests, three legged sack races and horse shoe competitions.
I remember me and my dad took first place in the sack races.
