I've been giving serious considerations about not only leaving the state but the entire fricking country

The only problem is I have no clue where I would go

Might as well become a bama fan since we can't beat them.

I used to hate stuff like this until I took a better job in Houston in 2008. There is just so much more opportunity here, and before someone says "oil price baw", my wife and I are both still killing it at our jobs here. Katy has a population over 300K, which is bigger than Baton Rouge. If you are good at what you do, whatever it is, there is just a lot more opportunity for success and compensation.

I left LA right after breaking up with someone, figured that if I stuck around I'd be running the risk of getting settled down in a place I didn't want to be. It worked out great, get out while you can.

Due to recent migrations I hear there's cheap land to be had in Syria.

My gf, now wife, and I moved to San Francisco after LSU. Stayed for a couple of years, got engaged, then moved back. It was nice and all, just really expensive. I think everyone should move away at some point.

I lived in Co, Telluride, for a summer in college, and I just remember working a bunch.

I am with you my man and the state government issues are only part of the reason. I am a native of south Louisiana and have also lived in 4 other states and I will be gone before the summer. I left in the mid 90's and have been back since 09' and I guarantee you once I am gone this time I will never be back to live here again. This state is one of the shittiest places I have ever experienced and if it weren't for the food, some family & friends and my favorite sports teams I wouldn't ever step foot back in this hellhole!! Sayonara suckers!!

Left and will never return (except to visit family)
It's like a burden being lifted off your chest. No arsehole drivers, non corrupt politicians that threaten to take away the states premier college football team, good schools (although its hard anywhere to not beat the 49th best state for education)

I can tell you're young. Burial plots are not high on your priority list I see. Mine either until I hit 60.

I'm heading to Texas eventually. Wouldn't mind living in Charlotte again or Tennessee.

I left Louisiana for Colorado. Haven't regretted it once in the last 4 years.

Warning: There are stupid people here too. There are stupid people everywhere actually, so if you are going to move at least pick a place with beautiful scenery, or low state taxes or something like that.
