If God couldn't get me to leave in 05, John Bell Edwards sure as hell isn't getting me to leave

Texas is hands down the best state in the country. Who doesn't like better education, no income tax, more abundant and better paying jobs, more affordable housing, better quality of life? Although I'd never leave here, if it wasn't for Texas, I'd be in Tennessee.

Left after living there for 30 years.

Now in North Carolina.

Happy with decision.

Lived in BR my whole life. My family has been going to North Carolina every year for the beach, and I love it there. I plan on sending my resume to companies in North Carolina and South Carolina once I graduate, if that ever happens.

Even though this is a subjective statement, it's still somehow wrong.

I moved out of LA a couple years ago and couldn't be happier with the decision. I doubt I end up back in LA at any point in my life.

Left in 04. Have only lived back home in Louisiana for 4-6 months three times. I miss my family greatly and miss sports/Louisiana October's, but not much else.

My wife and I will move back to Louisiana in the near future.

I have lived in Austin, Dallas, Miami, and Tampa. It all just seems like a blur.

I can not wait to move back to Louisiana.

We will be leaving here this summer. It will be hard being away from all of our family, especially having a newborn, but there's just so much more opportunity elsewhere.

Beware with kids. We moved to Florida 1 year ago with a 2 year old and 1 month old. Left grandparents and siblings, so now we don't have a babysitter. It's taken a tool on the marriage. Wife stays at home, and it's been a rough year. Hoping we can stick it out because Florida offers alot of good jobs, no income tax.

Please don't move to Colorado. Unless you like paying $1400 for a shitty 1 BR apartment in an undesirable location, Denver is not the place for you.

All the transplants we get are fricking stoners that don't contribute to anything and make the state more and more liberal.

Honestly, I have considered moving - not because of the government though. I just like the change of scenery and WEATHER. I moved away every summer in college to experience something new, but I missed out on some family moments that I wish I hadn't. So for now, as long as both of my parents are still here, I will be too.

I've always want to leave. The problem is that I hate cold weather. I have yet to find somewhere else in the US where it's warm, legal to gamble, and legal to drink on the street.

She packed my bags last night, pre-flight
Zero hour, nine A.M.
And I'm gonna be high
As a kite by then
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh, no no no
I'm a rocket man
Rocket man
Burnin' out his fuse up here alone

I hear you. Sounds very similar to our situation, wife won't work the first year or so while we get acclimated. It will be really hard leaving all the help, the MIL watches her every day and my parents are not 5 minutes from my house. We don't want to leave, but being in Healthcare, Louisiana isn't the best place for my future.

Hope everything works out for y'all

Lord knows jobs, taxes, schools, and healthcare aren't priorities.

Not sure if serious? Texas is doing incredibly well right now financially in most major metros.

It's no secret that desirable places to live are expensive. Usually the salaries will adjust to account for new cost of living
