Howard?

The technology is dying. I don't want it to be this way. It's just the way it is, and though we had decades to prepare for it, we did nothing, thinking that O&G would last forever. We had the capacity to set ourselves up to prosper in the techno-age, but we ignored it.

Oil isn't going up above $60 for an extended amount of period any time soon, baws. Soon as it gets high, the US starts getting oil out of shale and floods the market which causes the prices to go back down.

I'm sure he does. I got laid off and am unemployed. Just stating that you don't know who someone may be.

How do you not understand that simple statement

I've been affected positively- gas is cheap as hell and the other expenditures in my budget have remained the same.

My division of my company made 130 million in cuts to overhead. Most of that came in the form of layoffs. I made it through. They told us it was a drastic cut so that we won't have to do it again later if it gets worse. Not directly in oil and gas but we supply equipment to that market as a portion of our business.

In the mean time commute costs for me and the wife are waayyyyyy down.

New Orleans has had years when murder was way worse.

I would doubt those years correlate with the real estate outlook.

What do you think will cause the next pop in real estate? High pricing? How far off do you foresee it happening? You've been in real estate way longer than me. I'm genuinely curious.

It's coming for all of us this year. Things won't turn around till 17 at the earliest. Save your money...sell unnecessary items...don't blow thousands on christmas.

Youre full of shite if you are implying you knew oil was going to drop to $35 a barrel in one year.

Where did I say that? Link me you little booty scratching bitch. It seems everyone but O&G employers knew that the flourishing O&G bubble was going to pop. I never said I knew when or by how much, what I do know is that $80+ a barrel was an anomaly and wouldn't last. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure that much out.

Absolutely true. But some people no matter how much money they make still live paycheck to paycheck. It's pretty rediculous. For instance, I have a buddy who makes about 60k a year. Not a ton a money but not terrible either. All he pays is rent/utilities, truck note/insurance, cell phone and gas. Dude stays broke. Never saves. Blows my mind.

Understood. And I meant for people who have the means to save. Some people literally can't. But some people over spend.
