Buddy in Kennah did this with TexasDirectAuto dot com.

I did this within the last 6 months.
They delivered my new truck here and took my old truck as a trade. Could not have been any easier.

Was actually able to get both of the vehicles delivered to me at no additional cost too.
Ask for this if you don't mind taking delivery sight unseen. Dealer (Sewell Cadillac in Dallas) and I were $1000 apart on my wife's last car and they offered to deliver it to me on Labor Day from Dallas to Shreveport. Backed it off the trailer, loaded our trade in, signed a few papers and they were on their way back.
The following week, somebody didn't know the car had sold and they reduced the price. 1 phone call to the dealership and I had a check in the mail the following week.

Bought my 2006 and 2017 trucks from Katy, TX. Louisiana dealers can't compete. It's easy to do.

<<<< here.
Certified Pre-Owned. Was $7k less than comparable vehicle in LA.
Even the local sales guy told me I'd be a fool not to go there.

when financing a vehicle, buying one for 50k with a 3.9% interest rate will have the same note as buying a truck for 48k with a 5.9%. don't be fooled into think you're saving just on the rebate. it's all about the financing.
oh........and.....if you're a resident of La.......you'll pay the taxes like all louisianians as you'll register it in La.

Why are Texas truck prices lower than Louisiana truck prices?

You will have to pay the sales tax rate for the parish you live in.

I’ve never bought a car in Louisiana. I bought my daughters car in Dallas last year and I bought my most recent car in Denver. Both delivered to my door. Easy Peezy. Save lots of cash.

Done it twice.
Bought in-person from a Chevrolet dealership in Frisco in 2017. They did not take care of the taxes so I went to the DMV in La and paid $2k or something like that. This was my first out of state vehicle purchase so it really caught me off guard.
Bought a truck strictly through email from a small Ford dealership in San Augustine TX in 2020. They delivered to my office for $100 and took care of the taxes and La registration with the sale which was nice. I had to do nothing more.

Most of the dealerships over there know how to get it correctly titled in Louisiana. It's always a good idea to let them know the Bill of Sale and Title (or Certificate of Origin) need to be notarized to be accepted in Louisiana. Both of them need it.
The dealerships will have you sign a Power of Attorney to take care of these matters without you having to go back to deal with it in regard to the purchase of the vehicle. It will just be smoother if they're reminded to do it right the first time.

Not sure if new or used, but this is the case for a lot of things preowned. People in Louisiana are typically asking way more for used items.

We bought a Honda Pilot from Team Gillman in Houston. They had the car on the lot and gave us what we thought was a fair price. Get there and was a shite show. Finally worked out a deal. Trying to get the plate and title was a pain in the arse. They are horrible. Would not recommend them to anyone.
