He’s mad that your having premarital sex
You tell him you’re getting married which will fix that problem and he still acts pissy
Is that how that works?

Raised in a genuinely good two parent household. Never had a falling out besides the constant bickering and picking on each other as we grew up.

You having premarital sex is the only reason he has turned his back on you? There has to be more to this story right?
Posted on 7/2/18 at 4:15 pm to Flanders
you must have a "reason" in your own head for why he stopped talking to you at 18 yrs old?

My parents are devout southern baptists and when I lived w/ my now wife before we were married, all I got was a 3 minute lecture from my dad and then it was never discussed again
I'm sure it's possible this guy is just extreme, but hard to believe that level of bitterness could develop

Did yall get together while still in a relationship with someone else? Either way, things happen and if someone finds that person, while in a relationship.. So be it. It happens. Life happens. What a judgemental frick.
I am sure it hurts your mom, but there is nothing yall can really do be say "frick him" and continue living life without him.

It sounds like you're better off, to be honest. I have some super religious people in my family and you can't have a conversation with them without it coming back to what a sinner you are. No thanks. Sorry if that's cold, but it's a whole lotta nope.

Sounds like something is missing in the story...

I can't imagine the pain this creates for our mother.
Of the situation that you describe, this is the part that would really bother me if I were in your shoes. However, you have done your part and extended the branch of peace. He did not accept, so let him know that the door is always open, but wash your hands of it and move on with your life.

and my younger sister has been addicted to Adderall for about 10 years, is very emaciated and crazier than a shithouse rat. She drained my kids savings accounts, stole cash and jewelry from me and my family and countless other things over the course of a very short time. Of course we pressed charges and she spent a few years in jail, but once she got out she was back up to her same antics so we all agreed to never talk to her again. It’s been three years since I last spoke or saw her, I truly have no idea what she was doing or where she’s living.

Why did you give her access to your kids' savings accounts?

I didn't speak to my middle brother for almost 10 years. My Mom said she and my Dad were really upset by it, but My policy is to limit the assholes in my life to a minimum, regardless of whether we're related.
We've since reconciled, but I don't blame anyone who cuts off a sibling, assuming they have good reason.

He believes his presence holds some kind of power over you and that if he denies that presence, he can bully you into doing what he wants. He is sinning by judging you but his sins are OK. What about his masturbation. Is that, and Airfernado's masturbation a sin or not.
The judgmental people are out there in force. Handle your business as best you can.
Keep in mind your brother has his religion and a penis. Be glad it is the religion he wants to shove down your throat.

We didn’t. Addicts are very resourceful and habitual liars.
