Got an 06 Kaw Nomad 1600 now and that is my second one. I lost my 2000 1500 Nomad when Katrina hit and it had 55K miles on it at the time.

That is a great bike. I got rid of my BUBF Vulcan 1500 a few years ago... It turns out, you can't take 3 kids to school on a motorcycle (not easily at least). I'm waiting till the kids go off to college before I get my next bike.

A bike ride across Utah or Wyoming is incredible.
Running across our great Nation's entire landscape and thinking of my Jennie is too....

1999 Suzuki Intruder 1500. Less hp than all the big v-twins. Don't care.

What made you go with the V-Rod? The liquid cooled engine?

been all over CO a few times but was unprepared for the absolute stunning beauty

What I really liked about the Rockies were the big sweeping turns that you could maintain a good speed and still had the opportunity to view the scenery. The change in the geology as you pass through is absolutely stunning. You can ride through areas with red mountainsides and boulders the size of busses and not long after, it's grey granite, yellow limestone, etc.

And some of those high mountain lakes so calm and flat that looking in the distance produces a mirror image across the water.

I ride nearly everyday. 2012 Yamaha Stryker. I dont rev at lights at all, but I do get after it on the back roads with nice curve embankments. Everyone should ride a motorcycle at least once in their life

I can ride every thing on wheels, and some without ( gone in 60 seconds)
But it's true for me.

Harley is in a decline hopefully they go back to selling affordable bikes to blue collar folks and not a leather clad LARP convention for fat suburbanites.

Lots of anti-biker stereotypes on here that sadly are true. Love my bikes but don't consider myself a "biker" by any stretch. I don't dress like a pirate (Harley riders, nor do I own any Harley gear) or a Power Ranger (sport bike riders) and I don't crack my throttle at stop lights. Those types give us who just like to ride a bad name and I understand it. That being said, there is no better way to see the country than on a motorcycle.
