I've often pondered the comedic power of the duck: Donald Duck, Daffy Duck, Howard the Duck, Long Duk Dong... perhaps no other animal has the inherent comedic power that the duck has. Maybe it's their self-important glower. Maybe it's the noise, or the waddle, but ducks are fricking funny, man.

They have been constant entertainment through this shite. We have a fishing pond in our yard and have about 12 mallards. Used to have 36+ but some relocated down the street about 1/2 a mile away to someone else’s pond. Fricking traitors. Said we were gonna raise some more this year, but didn’t think we’d have time. They need to stay penned until about 16 weeks and it’s a lot of work. Wish I’d done it. Also, ducking season isn’t that cute. It’s constant gang rape on the few hens we have.
