What about the word "disorder" is actually bad. There is a generally followed order "gender = sex", and being transgendered means that the normal "order" isn't being followed - so why is it not a "disorder"?
I would rather drop the stigma on the word "disorder" than move more and more mental conditions out of that bucket.
