Exactly. I'm in my 50s and recall when it became a frequently used phrase. It's older, but it was a buzzword, and so very stupid.

I'm sorry, how are you equating the word "team" as some kind of interoffice lingo only?

It’s the context it’s used in. To me, someone starting an email as “Good morning Team” or “Hey Team” comes across as trying to hard to feel more important than they are.

and reach out?

No one uses reach out in every day talk. It’s definitely a corporate buzzword. Most people say call, talk to or text.

They literally make up new shite every few years to sell training books and conferences on new lingo. It is a huge grift to make money and companies eat it up. Want to roll your eyes non stop? Especially if you work in IT? Attend ITIL seminars.

Every few years they just make up new terminology to say the same thing but with new words/phrases.It's usually hosted or taught by a middle aged woman, who loves to say shite like "Let's take a holistic approach to organization."

They love pushing new buzzwords. For instance, the big thing a few years ago was to do away with a "Help Desk" and replace it with a "Service Request Portal". Users no longer submit a help desk or support ticket; Instead they "Issue a service request."

You can tell that the people who get all excited to come up with that stuff have never done real, actual work in their life. They are more worried about making a simple thing more complicated than getting the actual work done.

I hate clarity. Just use clarification. Maybe I just have a personal issue with it because of how much I hear it.

Still a buzzword. No different than crrcle back or on-board except temporally. It hasn't changed form.

touch base vs circle back is an all time "who seeded this tournament" moment. Thats Creighton vs Kansas in the first round and both teams are final four potential

I hate when they say something that clearly isn't a unanimous opinion and follow it up with "RIGHT??"

How much better would the corporate world be if instead of all that corporatist Correct Talk we had kegs of beer, rock and roll and wet tshirt competitions instead? I hope DOGE addresses that.

Carhartt, we need you onboard with your stretch goal.

How can we help you get there?

I'm trying to be proactive rather than reactive

Also trying to reduce redundancy and increase relevancy.

I've had these 2 on repeat for about a decade now. Everyone falls to their knees and begs me to save them after.

I’d like to contribute a few that have been bothering me when I hear people say them. Which has been often.

Aligned and processes (pronounced process eee s) makes me want to bang my head against a wall
