Honestly, it would make me judge his case harder. I would know that he has likely presented his case in the best light that money can buy, so I would dissect everything.

I think most people would, which was my point.

Your truly elite trial attorneys generally don't make a show of it. It's not good for business.

Joe Jamail was a bad arse trial attorney.

There used to be a YouTube video with him fighting with a defense attorney in a deposition. I think it was a Monsanto case. I can’t find it anymore but it was funny as hell. That old dude was about to fist fight with the other attorney.

It’s the linked video you dumb son of a bitch

All day long. Even the OP gets the correct context of trial lawyer.

least for the Baton Rouge area, Lewis Unglesby is up there.

Jim Boren is also there.

FWIW Unglesby doesn’t think Boren is that great

Russ Herman has had HUGE verdicts over the years. However I have not watched him personally in the court room.

FWIW, EWE, with all his legal issues, chose Lewis Unglesby to defend him. He's also supposed to have one of the vilest, ugliest tempers outside the courtroom.

The best don’t advertise because they don’t need to.

It depends on your client. If you are representing businesses/organizations they aren’t picking their attorney based on advertising for the most part. If you are representing individuals a large portion of them are going to make their decision based on advertising.

I see unglesby at church. He looks like he’s having some issues. Shuffles like an old man.

Unglesby is a very smart guy. He has the ability to quickly understand a complex idea and break it down into easily understood terms. He’s also supremely confident and not afraid to let other lawyers know how he feels about them which is what takes them aback. He certainly has a temper, although I’d never describe him as a bad person. He is straight forward and honest.

He’s not young and had his knees replaced a decade ago.
