Siegen lane Walmart had a McDonald’s inside when it first opened

Mr Bills sports cards and comics on Sherwood

What was the seafood place on Jefferson right outside Jefferson terrace that did crawfish and had poboys? Very neighborhood vibes. French market? Was a small wooden white building.

Hitting bombs at the celebration station outdoor batting cages

The back wall of sports unlimited where all the MLB fitted hats were.

I played on a t-ball teamed called Hoppers that they sponsored.

Yeah. Demogorgons everywhere. But the music was good.

Edit: Dammit. I just realized someone with their first post bumped a thread from 2018.

Damn I remember when the corner of Siegan and Perkins was a 4 way stop, just down the street from the Walmart, and you had to actually cross the railroad tracks.

Anybody remember where Monkey Bizz was? Took my kids there in the early 90s. Maybe next to Hi Neighbor on Jefferson at I12?

VDR was prime real estate in the 70s and 80s. Those homes are still nice. We lived off Berkeley and i went to that school until I was 10.

I remember my parents consuming a problematic amount of muffelatas (sp?) at Old New Orleans while I crushed some Dig Dug when I was a youth.

That area and Sherwood felt nice for a long time. I remember feeling like Sherwood took a turn when that dude blew his wife’s heart out of her chest with a sawed off in the KFC parking lot on Sherwood and Harrells Ferry around ‘91. My mom was in the drive-thru across the street at BK when it happened.

My parents were some of the first folks to move into Village St George.

This is 3 yr old me standing in front of the Kleinpeter milk store on the NW corner of Siegen and Perkins intersection. ~1978

We messed up big time tearing down Ramers Grocery. Especially to build that weird office complex that literally never has anyone there.

It was amazing. I wonder how many people could be seated in that place. It was huge to my childish eyes. I’d love to see pics of the place if anyone’s got some.

Very old thread but it was called Pitter Patter of Little Feet. Rode out a tornado warning in there mid 90s.
